Workshop report on the role of civil society in the national dialogue

The workshop was attended by a number of Sudanese civil society figures in the center (the capital) with the participation of leaders from organizations in the states of the island, Sennar, Blue Nile, Gedaref and Kassala.

Presented through the workshop two papers presented the first paper d. The paper dealt with the reality of the national dialogue in Sudan and the invitation made by the President of the Republic for dialogue. The paper stated that the call for dialogue has received great attention from the Sudanese society in all its components. Despite the obstacles encountered in the process of national dialogue and the measures considered by some as a setback in the national dialogue process, all parties continued to stress that dialogue is the way out of the crisis. The paper also dealt with the challenges facing the national dialogue process. The paper presented a proposal for elements that Dr. deemed important and necessary for the success of the national dialogue process.
 
 
 
Dr. Hawi stressed that dialogue is the only way to solve the issues and reach an agreement that contributes to the stability of the country
 
 
 
The second paper was presented by Dr. Omar Al-Khair Ibrahim (Director of the Sudanese Center for Democracy and Development) and titled the role of civil society in the national dialogue. The paper dealt with the concept of national dialogue. The paper also dealt with the experiences of the national dialogue in Sudan and the challenges it faced. The paper dealt with the civil society and its initiatives for reform and national dialogue. The paper reviewed the role of civil society in Sudan and its position on the call for national dialogue. It has issues of public interest and very few people interested in the government policies and the extent of its response to the interests of society and the country and its members look to the future and do not waste their effort in the simulation of politics and maneuvers. In general, the paper was a scientific and practical and presented a strong vision and is the first serious logical initiative put forward to accommodate civil society in public affairs issues or say in the national dialogue has presented steps and guidelines based on the rules and practical steps must be sought to achieve a process of national dialogue serious and sincere commitment to them or Less use them to achieve the desired goal of dialogue leading to stability, development and good governance.
 
 
 
Dr. Omar Al-Khair Ibrahim presented a roadmap that included the required directives for conducting a transparent dialogue that could serve as a platform for launching the initiative and considered important points that help the mechanism to achieve the desired national dialogue.
 
 
 
          Afterwards, the papers were discussed, where the center hall witnessed great enthusiasm and keenness to participate from the participants in the workshop. It is the nucleus for forming an alliance (to be named) of civil society organizations. It has already been formed from the audience and its chairmanship was entrusted to Dr. Omar El-Khair Ibrahim. The Sudanese Center should be the secretariat of the largest mechanism composed of civil society organizations to support the national dialogue. The country's preliminary Committee held its first meeting after the workshop directly.
