About Us

The idea
The Sudanese Center for Democracy and Development was established as a civil society institution in April 2010 by a group of young activists who belong to different intellectual, social and political groups, been brought together by love for the homeland and their community and the belief in the need to contribute voluntarily to its service. The idea began when the founders discovered the amount of effort and time they spent in using politics on the Sudanese mood (verbal inaccuracies) compared to the results they achieve, both on the level of their abilities and ambitions or the level of expectations hoped by the community and the country. From here, young people realized in spite of all their different colours and backgrounds that they need an advanced formula to help them come and work together, collect their ideas and energy, and then direct them positively in the service of their community and their homeland .

Civil work was the area in which the founders agreed on the free spaces that help the individual to know, to be in charge and to participate. Hence the idea of the Center as an advanced social formula that adopts independence, voluntarism and professionalism and addresses key issues such as: the absence of culture of democracy from society and its institutions, the weakness of the individual's abilities and the absence of collective spirit; the youth's lack of vision and a realistic model to follow. These issues represent the founders' assessment of the problems that the Center should working on finding appropriate solutions.
